Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream Review

Hello everyone. Today i want to share with you a product that successfully captived my heart from the first try. It is Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream.

A little story how i know this brand is back in 2019 i got a free gift from Sephora US the Drunk Elephant Face Wash travel tube. Mini. I heard so many good things about Drunk Elephant, and one of the most discussed is the impressive ingredients they have inside the products.

Drunk Elephant main ingredient is Marula Oil (which can make an elephant drunk if the elephant consume the fruit from the tree, hence they named it Drunk Elephant. Nice!) and also they only used pure ingredients: no SLS, no chemical sunscreens, no drying alcohols, no silicones, no coloring, no essential oils. Ever since, i put interest on this brand.

Drunk Elephant is not that popular in Indonesia because the brand does not have a store here, nor Sephora Indonesia carried it here. So if you really want to try this, the best is joining the Open PO or “jastip” or find Star Seller on Shopee. The price is quite expensive tho, for example for this Lala Retro Whipped Cream, the selling price for 50ml started at minimum IDR 1.2million, while in US it sold for $68.

Long story short, my skin type is always combination oily and sensitive. Due to this Pandemic, my skin exposed to air condition almost 24hours a day and make it dry. So my sister handed me this Lala Retro Whipped Cream and i felt in love!

Lala Retro Whipped Cream

Love the sleek packaging which comes in plastic jar with super cute color, pastel purple. The information about this product embodied well on the container.

Actually, Lala Retro Whipped Cream is an all purpose rescue cream, blended with 6 rare African Oils and also Ceramide to recover and lock in intense moisture.

Ceramide itself known to be good to enriched exhausted skin. It been used in many mask sheets, and other skincare products.

Detail ingredients copied from mecca.com.au

So this cream is best to used when you have dry skin, could be applied to any part of your body that need rescue from dryness.

Press slight to dispense the cream from the jar

Back to packaging, i love how they designed the inner side of the jar, which comes with a press on for automatic dispense of the cream inside. It makes everything inside the container safe from germs and we can press it as we desired without contaminating the rest of the cream.

So why did i say this product captive my heart?

Usually the best thing to do to recover my skin from dryness is by putting mask sheets for 3-5 days straight. Daily. The result is faster than applying moisturizer daily for a week.

But with this Lala Retro Whipped Cream, first try, i already seen the visible result. My skin plumped, hydrated. My skin was already better in the next morning, upon 1 time application.

There are no redness, no rashes, also not itchy.

Also, this has no fragrance. So it is sensitive skin friendly!

Airy cream texture of Lala Retro Whipped Cream

Let’s take a moment to discuss the texture of this cream. It’s not a thick creamy cream, it’s more like a fluf airy cream, whipped cream, it is! The cream absorbed pretty fast unto the skin, leaving it with matte finished. Non greasy, not oily.

I used only this Lala Retro Whipped Cream, i didn’t apply any serums, any mask sheets either. That’s why this is really love at first try.

Not only that, this cream could be applied on neck, elbow, knee and any other parts that need special care to fight dryness. A jar of so many benefits i guess? Much needed! 🙂

Now if you ask me whether this cream also suitable for oily skin, the answer is i am not pretty sure about it. The cream stated that it is best for normal to dry skin. No claimed from the Drunk Elephant, but i have tested on my oily combination skin too.

As soon as my skin back to my normal condition (oily combination), i continue to apply this cream and no side effects. No redness, no clogged pores, no excessive oil. So this is really Angel’s approved! I guess, as this is an all purpose rescue cream, even oily skin still need this to rescue the moisture balance and more. Okay but this is totally personal experience okay? Please remember even we have the same type of skin, our skin may react differently.

Now let’s sum up the review here!

Packaging: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (Although i like the design with press on thingy to keep hygiene, not gonna lie that there will be cream left there that cannot be dispense automatically. Means i need to do some kind of “surgery” to open and use the cream to the last drop)

Ingredients: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (i am totally sold with all the oils they used. It’s not essential oil! Amazing)

Effectiveness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (visible instant result the next morning, i will argue no more)

Price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (okay with all the goodness it shouldn’t be expensive given that price. But still, i am a human, and have limited expense, especially when i can’t easily get the cream on first retail price, it becomes more expensive. To buy retail price = travelling, no travelling = buy from another seller, marked up price)

Will i recommend? YES!

After the fantastic result i have with Lala Retro Whipped Cream, my love for Drunk Elephant sparks even more. I cannot wait to try their Protini Polypeptide Cream which sweared by many, even more amazing than Lala Retro Whipped Cream. My sister who also been using these 2 creams said that Protini works even wonderful than Lala Retro. Make me jump on excitement!

Glad that i manage to have the small jar of this Protini. I guess i can start try this one and hopefully once this pandemic over, i can get the full size jar. Travelling time 🙂

Do you wish to read my review about the Protini Polypeptide Cream also?

Until then, you can start searching your trusted seller to get this wonderful cream, and dig into detail information about the range of products Drunk Elephant have on www.drunkelephant.com

Love,

Angel ❤️
